An extra lot in you back or front lawn can be a very wonderful opportunity for you to go and have extra bonding time with your kids. Gardening not only makes for a fun and worth the while activity for the entire family, it also gives your home that pleasing and inviting feel to it. You can get grass seed, ornamental plants and vegetables, and other landscaping items from you local nursery or home improvement shop.
Early on, you can groom your kids to become nature lovers. This can start simply by involving them in your home garden. Having a kid friendly garden in your home is certainly fun. With the many environmental issues that we all face today, it certainly would be a big contribution having a couple of more kids to grow up as responsible and nature loving adults. As you start your garden, keep in mind that it would be best to pick plants that are relatively easy to grow so your kids will achieve a sense of fulfillment and accomplishment in being part of the garden work.
Be sure to delegate tasks to your kids such as the regular watering of the plant and grass in your lawn. This teaches them to have a sense of responsibility and accountability. These certainly are traits that you would want them to have when they grow up. In no time, when your plants begin to sprout, grow and bud, your children will feel that they really have accomplished something. Just don’t forget to make your garden activities fun and a learning experience for them.
